I am planning on using some sign language with Eliza. The only problem is I don't really know sign language, so I will be learning some signs. I was over at my neighbor's house a few months ago and her baby was signing "kitty". It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. She told me he LOVES the Signing Time videos and she showed me one. I loved it too! Anyway, I was on the website today and found out that public TV stations in certain cities have started to broadcast Signing Times episodes. YES! You can look on this website to find out if your city airs Signing Times. I ended up ordering the first three DVDs so I could have the basics on hand.

I went on the website today with my girls and we watched the clips for about 30 min. They absolutely loved them. These are really well done videos!! I'll be buying some for sure! Thanks for the heads up.

Awesome, you can help me out after you learn it all. :-) We want to do baby signing too. We've already learned a bunch of signs: more, milk, eat, down, kitty, I love you, and all done. I used to know more but my cruddy memory is defeating me and I can't think of them...
Both of my brothers and their wives have used these videos with their kids, as well as my bro and sis-in-law on Chris' side. I hear nothing but GREAT reviews on the videos and kids love them! It's such a great idea and so cute to see these little kids sign for "milk" or "please"! I love it!
WOO! Thanks for letting me know about the PBS Broadcasts. We love Signing Time but our library does not carry it. Now we can watch on Saturdays!
Darn. Not in San Diego. :-(
I'll have to buy the dvds!
You might enjoy this sight that is like a video clip dictionary for baby signs. You just type in the word and watch the clip.

I am excite because my future home daycare provider uses signing time with the kids.
My daughter is adopting from mexico. I think I will tell her about the Baby Signs site too. It will give them something to do now as they wait for their travel date.
I am grammy to be to a little baby girl from Mexico, actually since we now have an adoption decree and a Birth Certificate, I am legally her grammy. All we need to do now, is get her across the border to her home. My daughter is adopting from mexico. We don't have a group of people to share our journey with. But I do have a grandbaby girl I am loving very much and also waiting and praying for the day she is in her home with the family who loves her.
Today I added a photo to my BLOG that kinda sums up our past week. Elia put her mark on the world Thurs and it is the cutest little picture. Come to see it. We have the adoption decree done now, she has a birth certificate now and Tues the paperwork should be in INS's hands. Then they wait for a phone call to go to Juares, and bring her home to AZ.er adoption is out of Mexico so they do not have any kind of support group of others traveling the journey with them. I am grandma to be and find it even harder to find anyone who has a clue what my shoes feel like as I watch them travel this road.
I know it may be hard to believe but my 21 month old has been signing "please" without us teaching her. I've taught her other signs and she picks them right up.
Great Blog!!
