Carrier

I bought a pouch carrier the other day. It fit fine with a t-shirt on, but I got to thinking...I'm probably going to be in China in the winter. The new pouch wouldn't work with a coat. It seemed like it would be pretty simple to make, so I pulled out my sewing machine. The home made pouch is made out of purple microfleece. I put a little tag on the front that says, "handmade with love". I'm pretty sure my creation is just what I will want for winter in China and it cost a lot less than the $50 people want for these things.

* The longer the wait gets the more desperate I get...yes, this is a doll in the carrier. I really need a baby to try it out, but it's 9:30 at night and there is not a baby handy, so a doll it is.
**Yes, it is still in the 80's in Utah and I'm in a winter coat...another sign that I am slowly losing my marbles!!!

Tiff, that is one of the cutest things I've ever seen! I love the picture with the doll and the coat -- good way to make sure everything fits just right! I can't wait to see who fills that seat next to mommy!

Whoa - excellent work! I wouldn't have even thought to check the fit of the carrier with a coat on. Wait a minute, actually I didn't. I'd better pull my ergo carrier out and see how it does. Dang it.

Oh wow. I never thought to check if my carrier works with a coat...better go see!

If it's any consolation, I'm losing it too! I just need to know WHEN WHEN WHEN!!!!

Hang in there, Tiffany.

It looks hot! But it just might be handy in a China winter with a baby! Wow, that is some thinking ahead girl!

I love the color, it's so fun. I don't understand how you put these things on. Do you like slip it over your head, and then stick the baby in? How does this work exactly?
I should know this already, right? I never knew anyone that used a sling though, and it sounds complicated to me. So let me know how it goes...

hey, ya know...don't feel weird about the doll. the DW took a sleeper (size 12month), sewed it up full of rice (20lb bag). it now serves as our "baby" in our snugli carrier so we can get used to it. works really well for on the treadmill too. lol

let's hope we all are carrying around our real babies in a couple of months, eh?! ;)
