How to Waste Money Before a Trip to China Part 2

Well, as it turns out, it is very expensive to replace the glass top of a stove. It didn't make any sense to sink $300 into a $400 stove, so I bought a new one for around $500. How do you like that...makes less sense as I type it! For some reason it was a hard decision. The old stove was only 3 years old. I didn't want a new top or a new stove, but something had to give, so I am the disgusted owner of a brand, spankin' new, stupid, not broken stove.

That is disgusting! I had to buy a new washing machine a couple months ago to replace a Maytag that was only 2 years old. For some odd reason sometimes it's cheaper to get a new appliance! Just think of all the fun you'll have boiling baby bottle nipples on your new stove! hee hee

Oh well, they get us coming and going on that kind of stuff. It bites.

No more standing on the stove ;0)

Oh dang, Tiff! But on the bright side, what a GREAT NEW stove! I really like it! Have you finished painting the kitchen? You must show some pictures!

Its just painful, isn't it? We remodeled our kitchen last summer & wanted to donate our former stove (maybe it was 10 years old - but in really good shape & worked fine). The Salvation Army didn't want it. They don't take anything over 5 years old! Seems these things are somewhat "disposable" these days. That is what bothers me!

Bummer!! I can't believe the replacement cost on the glass...that's crazy. Just what you didn't need when paying out all the China travel fees.

I know how frustrating it is... I had to buy a new dryer bc replacing a broken part (on my 3 year old dryer) was olny $100 less than a WHOLE new appliance! Anyways, had to be done...
think of all the wholesome meals you'll cook for Eliza on that brand new stove :)

Oh my Tiffany - I almost stood on mine on Saturday to paint above the cabinets! Luckily I had moved all of the stuff off of my counter on to the stove stop - seems like that one small decision saved me spending all kinds of money! Only 7 days to go! (I onthe otherhand and still waiting on TA!!!) Annette
