Eliza had her first doctor appt. today. Here are her stats:
Weight: 15 lbs 13 oz.
Length: 27.5 inches
The doctor said she was pretty much right on target and wouldn't recommend early intervention at this point. Doc also said her ears were red and it looked like she had an ear infection. We now have anitbiotics 2 X per day. Eliza has a special power to spit out anything you put in her mouth. It doesn't matter how far you squirt the meds in her throat. I've resorted to putting it in her bottle. So far, so good.
Poor baby got 4 shots today...2 in each leg. The nurse was so quick, but Eliza really cried. We came home and she went down for a nap. She woke up in a mood (which in Eliza terms means a bit of whining). I'm sure she's not feeling good because of the shots. She's in bed right now. I'm hoping she will be able to sleep through the night. We'll see!

- I have hoped to be a mother for as long as I can remember. My daughter was placed in my arms on November 12, 2006 in Hohhot, China. Then, a little over 2 years later, right in my own state, my darling baby boy was placed in my arms. Dreams really do come true!!!

It's so sad when they get there shots! Be sure to have your doctor do bloodwork to check for everything including vaccinations. Tessa's bloodwork indicated she had absolutely NO immunizations in her system and she was very malnourished (muscles breaking down, etc.). Don't want to cause you worry just want to encourage your doctor to check for everything because the immunization records may not be accurate, for example.

Oh the joys of being a first time parent. You are lucky though, despite the medicine issue, she seems like a very good little girl.
I really have to come and see her. When is a good time?
Poor Eliza... shots are just not fair!!! I knew she was perfect and so very healthy!!! WHERE ARE MY PICTURES???

It sounds like a rough day for Eliza AND mommy! That first year seemed like a non-stop parade of immunizations and ear infections for us...but Emma is as healthy as can be now. Hope Eliza feels better soon!
Poor baby! I hate when they cry from shots. It always makes me want to cry too!
She's a little peanut, only 15 lbs? What size clothes is she wearing? I have no idea what size Julia will need...
I'm glad she's doing well, aside from the ear infection. :)
