A few weeks ago I was mentally assessing our attachment. Upon meeting Eliza I immediately felt that she was mine. I would have given my life for her in an instant. I also knew that there was more to come. Like any relationship, the bond/attachment grows deeper over time. In the last couple of days I have felt our relationship as mother and daughter expand to something more. Miss Eliza was up at 2 am and then every hour until I brought her in bed with me at 6 am (the joys of teething!). She slept using me for her pillow until 8 am. I can't get enough of this kid! It's so amazing to watch her develop. She has gone from a tiny baby to an almost toddler who shows attitude, affection and lots of opinions. She is my daughter and I know she feels it too! Now that, my friends, is the best feeling in the world!
Pics from today...Who knew so much fun could be had with baskets? You can bang toys on them, use them to stand up and you can even climb inside!
The past couple of days she has noticed that her toys go under this chair and that she has the ability to retrieve them!

Eliza is getting so big - and her hair is getting longer too! Thanks for continuing to post about all the emotions you are going thru. It helps prepare us other "single moms in waiting" for what is to come! Take care.
WOW! She could probably get a few things out from under our chairs!!! Do you reckon she could squeeze her little arm behind a piano?!!!
I don't think any parent ever thinks, being a parent will be as rewarding as it is. Its amazing.

She can actually retrieve her toys, unlike Beau who tries but just can't quite do it!!

Just finished checking out your blog...Eliza is just a doll! I got the link to your blog from the Inner mongolia yahoo group. I've been picking up alot of good info after reading back over several months posts. I am just waiting for my TA...should be hearing soon. This waiting is killing me!...especially since I've had Ava's(Sun Ya Han) picture since Sept/06...seeing that little face makes it so hard. I'd welcome any tips you have for travel etc.
