Oh my! Today was our 6 month post placement visit. I love the social worker that does our visits so I wasn't stressed at all. I am a big time procrastinator, so I was scrambling to get the 4 pics printed that will be sent to the
CCAA...so many pics and only 4! I printed off the first set and went to Costco to pick them up. They didn't print right (the resolution was terrible), so I tried again and they were fine. I raced home only to find dog poop in the living room (I'm dog sitting Roxy who was nice enough to leave me a gift). No big deal. Then Roxy decided to vomit in the kitchen (she must have snacked on grass outside). At this point I was starting to feel all forces working against me, but I was determined to keep my cool. I fed Eliza dinner and as usual she was wearing her dinner from head to toe. Still, no big deal...I was planning on bathing her. I was running a little (okay, a lot) late at this point. Eliza was playing with her toys in the tub and having a grand time. All of the sudden things were really quiet and smelly. For the second time ever Eliza pooped in the tub. Yikes. The SW was due in 5 minutes. I quickly raced Eliza into the kitchen and did what any good mother does...I sprayed her off with the sink hose, got her dressed, and
placed her in front of the T.V. with a bottle. I
contemplated just shutting the bathroom door, but I decided that was just a little too gross. I cleaned the rather large load in the tub with ample amounts of bleach and hot water. I then gathered the bath toys, loaded them in the dishwasher and started 'er up. Just as I was finished and walking into the living room I saw the SW pull up. Phew! I promptly
apologized for the lovely scent of poop masked with a little bleach and sat down for our visit.
Calgon take me away (but not in my tub!)!!!!

We had our 6-month visit on Tuesday with Donna. Was great to see her, but Emma was something of a pill during the visit -- "testing limits." Donna and I had a nice long talk about various disciplinary tactics :)
Brandon pooped in the bathtub the other day. Such an ordeal with 3 little kids...fishing out the grody stuff is something I'll never get used to.
That was the funniest thing I have heard all day! I am sure not to funny to you...yet. I am sure the visit went well. How could it not. You're a great family. Can't believe it's been 6 months! Wow! Hope we can get the girls together again. Liberty Park sounded great.
Well, I'm sure your SW took one look at Eliza and that was all it took for a good review. She's adorable. Anyway, the odor of poop is a good way to keep the visit short & sweet!
so funny - especially cuz i wasn't the one dealing with tub poop.
i hope you sent that pic to the CCAA - she's just too adorable!!!
Too funny! I love that picture :)
Isn't motherhood grand! I love the happy picture of Eliza! I must say I miss the more frequent posting....
much love
Hehheee....all that SW had to do was see that face smiling like in that photo and all questions would be answered.
Donna came to our house last week, too! (our 1 year!) We bragged about Libby shamelesssly for an hour ("She can say her ABC's, blah blah blah, knows her colors, blah blah blah..."), then we broke out the M & M's so she could smear them all over. I recently had a friend over, and Libby stunk up her diaper at the precise moment the dog threw up at the entrance to the room we were sitting in. When I went to fetch a diaper, I slipped in the dog's mess! I could read my friend Linda's mind! Love, Erin
Sounds like Murphy's law! How did the visit go?
Good grief - what a day! You are super-Mom!
Oh poor woman! I don't think I would have been able to keep my cool... you cracked me up with this recap though!!
What a day!!! I absolutely hate poop in the bathtub...and am so thankful for bleach too! :-) Great job Tiff!

LMAO! I'm amazed that you got all that done without completely losing it! For our final post-placement visit, I got home and Mario had forgotten to pick up Sydney! I rushed to her school only to find that she was filthy, had a HUGE black, bump on her head, and a massive bug bite on her face. Yep, we looked like model parents when I pulled into the driveway 15 mintues after the SW arrived.
