Beau is home and doing well. It has been a very tiring week for me. I think I've probably lost a year off my life worrying. After talking to the vet this morning, he offered to do an x-ray to ease my troubled mind. It looks like if it were cancer it hasn't metastasized and the toe amputation should take care of things. I felt much better this morning when the vet informed me that he has never seen a toe tumor metastasize. When I went to pick Beau up this afternoon the doc said the toe looked a lot better than he had anticipated. He only had to remove it up to the first joint. Because of the x-ray and the info. from the vet and fact that treatment wouldn't be any different with biopsy results I opted to not have the biopsy done. Beau is loopy still, but should be up and walking in no time. I'm looking forward to many more years to come with my buddy. Thanks to everyone for your prayers and well-wishes. I appreciate it more than you know!

So glad to hear everything went well and that Beau should be just fine! I know how you can love a pet like it's one of your children...my two labs are my first kids...although they don't compare to Ava...I love them with all my heart, just the same.

Oh my gosh, I just got back and read about your scare with Beau! I am soooo glad he is ok. I couldn't imagine something happening to Chase, so I was feeling your worry there! What a cute little guy! Speedy recovery to him!

I'm so glad everything worked out. Beau will be up and around before you know it and I can absolutely attest to that because we have a dog with only three legs and he was running around the very day of his amputation!
