Safety first! Maylin and Eliza jumping from the trampoline into the pool. Check out their shoes. Both of these girls are in love with shoes and both had a mismatched pair!
- Beau's ear was hurting the other day. I took him to the vet and found out he had a fox tail (very poky weed) deep in his ear. The had to give him a little gas to dig the darn thing out. $71 later, his ear is feeling fine.
- Eliza is a darling dear, but she HATES to share. When friends come over she walks around the house gathering her belongings and yelling if they touch anything. Good times! I have to constantly remind myself that this is age appropriate behavior. We babysat her friend Maylin (and big sis McKenzie) because her brother is in the hospital close to my house. It took Eliza a good, long while to realize that having a friend come over is fun!
- Eliza's favorite food in the whole wide world is potato chips.
- I paid my younger sister Savannah to pick up fruit, mow the lawn and clean off the back porch for me today. It was the best $20 I've spent in a while!
- My sisters Lexy and Savannah are going to babysit for me tomorrow night so I can have a night off. I'm so excited! Can't remember the last time I had the night free. I think I'm going to do something fun, like get a pedicure?
- I called my potential adoption agency last week. I told them the time frame I'm looking at and the woman suggested I start the process sooner than later. I can always say no if it feels too soon, but I know myself too well. I have a hard time waiting if I don't have to! For financial reasons I can't do it right now, but I may go ahead and get a home study started before my planned start date.
- Just like last year, the more of me Eliza has, the more she wants. She likes me to be within her eye sight at every moment of the day. It's hard for me to remember to tell her if I'm running outside for a minute. I can't tell you how many times I have run to the backyard for something and come inside to a hysterical girl. Tonight I told her I had to go outside and get the towels off of the clothes line and asked if she wanted to come. "YEP" was her answer. I love the girl.
- We went through a rough phase this past spring. Eliza suddenly decided she would not go to sleep by herself. I am happy to report that for the past month or so, she is happy to go to bed and does so willingly. That makes life a whole lot easier for me! My mom always says about parenting, "Don't get used to anything (good or bad). It will change before you know it". Very true!
- We went to see WALL-E the other night. Big mistake. Robots and explosions are apparently not Eliza's cup of tea. We got our money back and went and ran through the fountain area at the mall. She can't stop talking about scary WALL-E and how she wants to see Horton instead. Poor girl. We will go to see Horton this week since it is at the dollar theater.
- I want summer to last longer!

Thanks so much for watching my kids. It really helped! It was so great to know my kids were in a safe place where love and good times abound. Love your shots! I don't thing my kids will ever think my house is fun again. Your house is where the action is. Maylin fell asleep before we got on the freeway...and is still asleep. Thanks again. And I agree....Eliza is a darling!
I LOVE - yes LOVE - the images of them jumping from the trampoline into the pool - how cool and fun!
I am so sorry that she did not like WALL-E :( Li Li loved it and can't wait for it to come on DVD.
Ladybug hugs,
;D
love the pics.
Super cool action shots!
Fun to read the update. Summer is too short! It's nice that Eliza loves you so much and nice that she is making progress with sleeping. Have a fun night!
Summer is waaaay too short. Love the don't get used to anything quote. Your girl is a trip and she just loves her mama! I always thought my not having more sisters/brothers was a good thing...rethinking it all now! Does Savannah do windows? =) It is great that you all are so close.
Love the pictures! Anna also hates to share. She can be a major bugger when people touch what she wants. And I, too, want summer to last longer!
I LOVE to read your updates! We should get together b4 this summer is over!!
Tiffany, I had to laugh at the picture with the mis-matched shoes...it's EXACTLY what my Lily and her cousin Lucy do everytime they're together. I don't know what it is, but the girls are obsessed with the shoes!
