Big Girl Room

Eliza has been sleeping in her big girl bed, in her big girl room for the past 3 weeks or so. She had been sleeping in my room in her big girl bed and had gone a couple of weeks without waking up and climbing into my bed. I'm a big believer in windows of opportunity with toddlers and I knew this was it if I wanted her to sleep in her own room. I put the bed in her room and put her in there for nap time. She mentioned that she wanted her bed in mommy's room. I told her to try it out and if she didn't like it, we would put it back. Not another comment. She LOVES her room and her bed. I love it too! She sleeps there the entire night, rarely waking up (as long as I don't forget to turn the night light on). We definitely have less snuggle time in the morning, so I'm thankful that I had those baby days with her in my bed. I wouldn't trade that time for anything, but it's nice to have her in her own room now. I'm so happy it went so smoothly.

As much as I had planned on sharing a bed with Ellie, after having my niece over for a sleepover the other night I may have to reconsider! I had to nap and recover all the next day! =)
How exciting that Eliza loves her new bed and how restful for you!

She looks so big in her big girl bed. I'm sure you'll get your snuggle time in anyways ;)

Your blog is adorable! I love your honest and eloquent writing style. On your last post, kudos to you for navigating the tricky questions honestly and for following your heart to motherhood. It was fun to see you and Eliza at the park! I have a picture of the girls on my blog.

Go Eliza! She is really growing up fast. It was fun to see you Monday. Good luck as you start the school year, especially with the daycare:)
