Mama's Baby Boy and the Big Sister

This poor baby's cheeks are going to be chappy soon from all of the mommy kisses he gets. I find myself waking up in the middle of the night smothering him in kisses when all he really wants to do is eat!
Eliza (a.k.a. big sister) is hanging in there. She told me yesterday that she wasn't a big girl, she was a baby and I needed to hold her. Of course I made room on my lap and held my big girl baby. I love her so much. She's really done better than I expected with the transition of welcoming her new baby brother. It's so nice to see Eliza love on the baby...very heart warming. Somehow I hit the jackpot twice. How am I this lucky? I'm not sure, but I'm very grateful for these two babies I have been blessed with!

It sounds like she's doing great. I don't know about Lily when I have this next one...she's so addicted to her mom it's going to be a shocker. You have 2 ADORABLE babies!

I know that Eliza will be a wonderful big sister. Any transition can sometimes be daunting at first. Wanting some extra love from you is not a surprise. You really are very lucky to have such a wonderful family. Congrats!

It sounds like both kids really are doing so well so far. I remember Delaney her first week or so, she made the funniest scrunchy faces when I kissed her (all the time), but she got used to it! Now she's a big kissy girl too and it is the greatest thing. Solomon is so dang cute, how could you not kiss him constantly (Eliza too of course!)???

Sounds like you are all doing fantastically well. How great that Eliza is able to let you know when she needs some Mama time too. She looks like she will be a wonderful big sister.

Oh geez, you're making me baby hungry and I'm old and cranky and well past that point in my life, but looking at this beautiful child, I'm thinking, well, hmmm, maybe. Maybe you just better let us baby sit, maybe that's the way to go here. But when do you think you'll be ready to set him down long enough to need a baby sitter and where am I in the queue? like number 142? well, I can wait.

So very very happy for you, and you know it's true.

Marji, mother of four but never any newborns because that's how it goes sometimes

Loving' it! Eliza is so cute and I am glad she is doing well with all the change. Having a new baby can be really hard for kids. I am glad she is one who is doing well with it. Give her a hug from Maylin. Maylin misses her and we all need to see you, Eliza and the babe.

What a beautiful baby boy!!! So happy for you and Eliza! FWIW, my oldest was 3 when I brought home her 9mo sister, and she wanted nothing to do with being a "big girl" anymore. :) The baby was cute and all, but she asked me many times to send the baby back to China. They're 5 and 8 now, and the best of friends.

I take one little (big) trip to China and see what I miss. OMG!! I was shocked and the tears are flowing all the way from China. He is just amazing and congratulations. I am so truely happy for you. Eliza will be the best big sister ever!!!

Soon, you might wish for extra arms to give lots of hugs and such for both at the same time.

those cheeks do look pretty kissable, and way to go Eliza on being such a good big sister. They do go back and forth on whether they want to be BIG, when there's a baby around taking your attention! you are a SUPER mom and you will do it all just right!
we should get together in a few weeks, when baby isn't quite so baby!
