One year ago today....

One year ago today I got this unexpected e-mail from my soon-to-be adoption agency:

"Hi Tiffany:
It's Kathy Kaiser from Wasatch Adoptions. I know you just barely sent in your application for an adoption from China, but we find that we suddenly have an opening for a single Mom if you are interested. There were others ahead of you on our waiting list, but when I contacted each of them they all had some very good reasons to wait for a while before going forward. So, if you want to jump the line and take the number one spot right now you can begin the process at this point. Let me know how you feel about this - I really need your answer quickly. Thanks for getting in touch asap... Kathy"

I was speechless after reading this. I was expecting to wait much longer. I decided I should think about my decision and not respond immediately. I started off to my next school. I couldn't think straight...and I certainly had a hard time driving (Uh, I ran a red light...ooops). When I got to the school I walked to the library, sat down at a computer and e-mailed my agency my acceptance letter. So much for thinking things over! Some things just decide themselves...this was one of them. One thing I can say for sure is that my life hasn't been the same, nor will it ever be! I can't wait to see what the year to come will bring!!!

So cool. It makes you want to check your in box way more frequently if good stuff is coming down the line like that, right? :-)
