I'm a bad mother!

Poor Beau. Poor, poor Beau. I spotted a mat in Beau's mane this morning. I grabbed the scissors and snipped it out. I couldn't stop there so I found a few more trouble spots and got rid of them. On my last snip Beau looked at me as if to say, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!!!" I put the scissors away and came back to see if there was any damage. Oh YIKES!!! It wasn't just a little cut, it was a huge, gaping cut (huge may not be the appropriate word, but it seemed huge...it was less than a half an inch). I immediately felt ill. My poor dog. I called the vet and they got me in right away. The poor guy needed 3 staples and antibiotics for 5 days. Beau really acts like nothing ever happened. He sitting by my side right now with his stick in paw. I called my mom to tell her of my abuse. Her response? She eased my guilt by reminding me that Beau was better cared for than many kids. She wanted to know if I'd take care of her that well some day. ;) You bet mom (but don't ask me to cut your hair)!
