Separation

I must admit, when I first started back to work it felt like a break...a chance to get out of the house. A big part of this was that Eliza was home with my sister and I knew she was being well-cared for, etc. Well, I still know that she is being well-cared for, but the minute I hand her to my sister in the morning she throws her head back and the tears start to roll. I don't do the sneaking out thing, so I give her a kiss/hug, say good-bye and swiftly walk out the door. She settles down within 5 minutes, but it doesn't make it any easier to leave. 11 more weeks until summer break.

Separation anxiety is a good thing.. (even though it's hard to get through) It truly shows the two of you have a wonderful BOND!

Keep up the good work mom!

Heartbreaking, isn't it?

I know Mali has a great time at school (just as I'm sure Eliza has a wonderful time with your sis) - but they still want Mom.

Personally, I don't really want to leave her to go to work, either. I'd love to skip work entirely & just go do something fun together. The crying is just their way of expressing themselves at this stage of the game.

Would I be happier if she didn't care when I left? I don't think so!! =)

11 more weeks for me as well!

Your so lucky to have your daughter love you and a great sitter! Summer will be the best for you two.

As hard as it is to see them react this way, it is a good sign that she has attached to you. I love the shamrock shirt...too cute!

Tears definitely tug at your heart (those kind of tears at least). She looks so dang cute in that pic.

Emma is five and there are still mornings where she gets teary and clings to me at school. I know she's fine when I leave, but it's still the worst feeling in the world!

Just keep counting down the weeks, then days. Time off will be here soon. Eliza is just so darned cute! I hope all is well with you. I think about you all the time and wish we could see each other sometime. We visited Florida for a couple weeks. there are some updates on our site if you get the chance. We would love to hear from you.

Hey Tiffany,

I just got a new computer and can't send email for some reason. I can receive it so please email and let me know your email address (it was on the old PC!) and let me know whether you want me to pick up anything. Emily's room is a mess! I has clothes and toys all over and I need to buy hangers so I'm not posting the mess yet! You are welcome to come and see it. People have been incredibly kind.

Ugh- I know exactly how you feel. I loathe dropping Miya off at daycare, it is the WORSE part of my day. On the flip side, picking her up is the best part of my day- she is so happy to see me, it is thrilling.

Me lurves the shirt...I'm trying to figure out how I can get women to stop birthing over the summer so I can hang with my girl when she's home.
