Spring Cleaning

My sister, Tabby, is the best house cleaner/organizer I have ever met. Even when we were kids she was like a whirlwind and would clean the whole house in no time at all. Her house is like a breath of fresh air...and mine...not so fresh. I told her I would pay her to come clean for me and to my surprise she agreed. She was just going to come over for a couple of hours. When I stopped in at lunch time to see how things were going she was hard at work and informed me she was going to keep going because she couldn't do only half of the house. When I came home after work I literally had tears in my eyes. She had stayed almost 6 hours and my house was sparkling. I seriously don't know how she did what she did in only 6 hours. The floors were scrubbed, the bathroom, fridge, freezer were all cleaned. She moved all of my furniture and cleaned under it. The entire house was dusted including baseboard and the hallway where my swamp cooler blows in outside air during the summer. She moved the stove and the fridge and cleaned all around them. She organized drawers. The list goes on and on. She took before and after pics on my camera as she went so I could post them on my blog. Funny girl! Like I'm going to show everyone the large dust mammals that were under my bed! Thanks , Tab, from the bottom of my heart!

What a great gift! A clean house makes everything seem better...even if it only lasts for a few minutes. :o) Enjoy!

How cool! I love a really clean house, but mine never stays that way for more than about 10 min. I wish I got the clean gene (my sister got it instead!)

Tab is awesome and daring as I think I may have heard one of those dust mammals when I visted...just kidding. Oh wait, didn't she help you out then too?? I want a Tabby in my life, does she have any desire to add Atlanta to the list of places people want her to visit?

That is a good sister... I wouldn't do that for my brother even if he paid me!! Even before I read the whole thing, I wanted to see pictures, so perhaps you should get brave & post them. I guarantee the pictures we have in our heads are worse than your house was! (most of us speaking from experience- hey, we know what it's like being a busy mom!)

I need that girl!!! You are one lucky person to have a sister like that.. You must be good to her for her to return the favor...Trying to remember when my house was really clean...Linda

Please post the pics, I need inspiration! The most I managed lately was to fix my cheapo screen door, that's lasted 16 years instead of the 2 estimated by the salesman, because I'm too cheap to spend money on the seriously ugly ones in the stores.

I'm sure she'd take a look at the clutter in our house and run in horror!

It is a great feeling to have your house clean from top to bottom. I used to do that in my younger days:) Does Tabby hire out to clean other people's houses?

That is so touching. My best friend does things like that for me. It is such a sweet selfless thing to do.

I came across your blog through Heather's. I was so excited to see another Hohot Mom.

Sounds like she should start a professional cleaning / organizing business! How wonderful is she for doing that!
