Well, I think we've rounded the corner. Eliza seems to be back to her old self. Coincidentally her bottom molars are all the way in. We have been doing a combination of time-in and time-out (depending on the situation) when necessary (which hasn't been that often) and I have reduced some of the things she was being allowed to make decisions about. Mama took some of the control back around here! I also decided on Monday that I was done stressing about the crying at school. I had been so stressed that I was stalling at drop-off, feeling guilty...you know, all the things you are not supposed to do. After 2 days of leaving a crying girl and not looking back, she skipped into school today, happy as a lark. She had her moments during the day, but things are on the mend. I will remain calm and in control...this is my new mantra. Boy, oh, boy can I get worked up about things. Poor Eliza. She needs a sibling. My intensity needs to be spread around on more than one kid.
I'll leave you tonight with a conversation we had this evening:

Eliza: I'm happy!
Me: Me too! You know why? Because you're my little girl!
Eliza: I'm not your little girl.
Me (feeling confused because I thought we were having a moment): You're not? Are you my baby?
Eliza: NO! I'm your BIG girl!
Me: Oh yes, I'm so happy because you're my big girl.

She has also recently started saying, "My mommy". She told me tonight, as we were lying in bed, "I want to lay by my mommy". Why certainly my big, little girl!

Glad things have turned a corner for the good. It must be so hard to see your little one upset.

Silly question, but can you explain how you have 'time in's?' I've heard that these are better for our little ones but I'm not really sure what they entail. Thanks!

Have a great day!

Calm and in control... ahhhh that sounds good. I'm not so good at either one, unfortunately. Working on it though, right alongside the kiddos!

Good job mommy! Love how much she loves you. And last time you turned me on to the shoes you love, I spent a wad, now you've done it again. My husband thanks you.

Hey, she's always going to be your little girl, no matter how big she gets!

So glad to hear things are going better, I'm learning a lot from all you been there, done that single moms!

And it's gotta melt your heart hearing her call you "my" mommy! What a sweet little (sorry, big) girl!

So sweet! The whole thing is mixed with emotions isn't it? Some days we are all in the "I love you and my family is great" mood and sometimes I just want to run away.
