Oh my gosh!!! Where have I been? I last read your blog over the holidays.....the 31st to be exact, so you can imagine my surprise when I decided to get caught up this evening only to discover you're the proud mom of a beautiful brand new baby boy and that little Eliza is now a big sister! WOW! That is super news. Congratulations!!!
I can't get over your timeline. When I've inquired about domestic adoption here in Canada (while meeting with my social worker to renew expired paperwork due to extended China timelines), I was told that as a single, a baby was pretty much out of the question. Our "rules and regulations" are so incredibly different. If I try to pursue another adoption while waiting for China, I have to make a choice and choose one or the other. That's not a choice I can (or am willing to) make.
I am thrilled for you. I love the name Solomon. Eliza is going to be (and is already - I love the pic of her reading to him) an incredible big sister. Congratulations again. What fun it must be to have a brand new baby in the house! Happy New Year!
Gaaah these pictures, they make my uterus hurt! I want a tiny little baby :) Congratulations, I'm so glad you seem to be soaking in every single moment of the new newborn days :) I'm SO happy for you!
I found you!!!!!!!!!! I read your blog a long time ago and then I think you went private. I was so happy to see you again and to find out that you have a brand new baby. He is beautiful. Congrats. Your family is just perfect. I am so excited for you. I am a Mom of 5 bio and 3 adopted kids. I am also a grandma, but I still love to read all the lovely adoption stories. Right now I am living in Belgium for 2 yrs with DH, but working with the youth in France(just across the border). We are on our mission and are enjoying it very much. Again congratulations and enjoy your beautiful children.
He really is a wee little man, isn't he? You are dressing him so cute. I love all of the dapper little boy's clothes now... and his skin looks good with every color. His scrunchy little nose is especially cute. It goes by so quickly, he already looks a tad bigger!
I especially LOVE his name. Is there a particular reason you picked it or just because you liked it? (I love hearing speacial "name sotries" for some reason)
I have hoped to be a mother for as long as I can remember. My daughter was placed in my arms on November 12, 2006 in Hohhot, China. Then, a little over 2 years later, right in my own state, my darling baby boy was placed in my arms. Dreams really do come true!!!
Eliza: (said to my sister's pregnant belly) It smells nice! 11.25.08
Jamie: Eliza, Why doesn't Beau come to church? Eliza: (without hesitation) Because he's naked. 11.23.08
Eliza: (After bath time playing naked on her bed) Hey mom, my bum is talking. 11.18.08
Eliza: I want to wear my princess dress (her new Christmas dress)! Me: Oh, Eliza, I don't know... Eliza: Mom, you just need to smile...and be happy! Me: (I did as I was told...smiled, gave her the dress and was happy) 11.13.08
Me: Liza, watcha doin'? Eliza: (sigh) Having a really hard day! 10.29.2008
Me: Eliza, please don't say poo. Eliza: Can I say shampoo?
Eliza: (said to Heidi) You Sophie's mommy? Heidi: Well, yes, sort of.
Me: (after getting a BIG hug) My cup runneth over! Eliza: I'm not a cup.
She asks every man that holds her, "Are you poky?". She hates the feel of facial hair!
When introducing Beau, "That's my sister, Beau."
Said to me, "I'm two. You're five."
"Mommy, you have to be patient"
"ANSWER ME" (as I was reading something on the computer)
"Mommy, I just made a mess" (boy did she ever)
"Don't do that, man. (said to a LADY...not a man)!

LOL! He looks like Mr. T in the first one when he says, "I'm going to git you sucker."
Solomon is a handsome boy, that's for sure. Are you just in total heaven?

Maybe it was Mr. T who said, "Who're you calling a fool?" I loved the A-Team.
Lots of love to your beautiful E. and so so handsome S. Blue is his color! Yes, you have some wonderful children there, Mama! =)

How do you stop snuggling his cuteness long enough to take a picture. You and Eliza are lucky ladies.

EVERYDAY must be a joy! So Cute!
