Need I Worry?
So, here's the big question of the day. So many people have gone to password protect mode on their blog sites. I'm wondering why? If there is a specific reason to be concerned how would I know? Do random weird people start sending hate mail or something? Are the rest of you who don't have passwords planning on going to a site where you can password protect in the future...say when you get your babies? Please let this worrier know if I should be worrying about yet one more thing!

Don't take this with sarcasm, but as straight ahead talking. If you have to ask that question, then you don't have to password protect.
It's sad :( that people feel that they have to password protect their sites. I would like to read up on the babies from China.
As someone who has password protected her blog, I can just say I got tired of the hurtful, annoying and sometimes downright mean comments that people made about me. It was just downright cattiness and I had better things to focus my energies on. Best $15 a month I've ever spent.

Hi. I guess I am lucky. No one has posted anything but positive stuff. But, then again, I don't really post my opinion on my blog. Just using pic, fyi's and questions. It's sad that people just don't know better and post rude stuff! There is a parent on one of my groups that had a family member pose anonymously in her adoption yahoo group, got damaging info on her daughter, took it to the school board where the school board got a lawyer, this person then reported this family to a social worker. The family was cleared but it's way out of control. This family member has like 3 alais on these yahoo groups and is seriously causing some problems for this family. Legal action is being taken and this parent is devistated. That's all of the details that I know but I think it is making a lot of parents aware of the dangers out there.
I truely hope that I won't feel the need to password protect my site. I really enjoy this whole blogging thing!!!!!
Don't worry. Johnny's right, if you don't immediately think "holy crap!" at the idea of someone reading your Posts, your golden!
A few of my Posts, "holy crap!"
I'm not too worried about going password protect even though I probably post way too much personal information. I may reconsider once we have Baby S, but as of now, I don't seem to have anyone stalking or being rude or abusive.
I started my blog just so my family could keep up with us when we were in China. So until that happens, I won't password protect unless I start getting some really bad vibes.
It is a wicked world we live it....Mean people suck and are stupid..... BAD KARMA to them!!!

These are insightful opinions, great thing to blog about Tiff! By the way, thank you so much for having a Valentines Day countdown. It is my most treasured holiday.

When I began my blog, it was to keep my out-of-state family updated on my process, so I tend to keep my posts fairly simple. Over the past year or so, my online audience has grown to be a bit more than my family - but so far so good. I haven't experienced any need to password protect.
I don't know that I will need to password protect... but I have seen some very nice people get flamed on their own sites specifically Karen (Gwenblog) and Shanna (Waiting for Sohpie). I think I even recall Karen saying she was shopping in the next town over and a complete stranger recognized her from her Blog and even approached her... That would freak me out a bit. I think this is a play it by ear decision. : )
