Summer is Over

The time has come. I feel like I've been dreading this day since I decided to adopt Eliza. With the help of my little sister, I have been able to keep Eliza at home for 9 months. It was time for my sis to experience college life and move into an apartment with a friend. This was the plan from the beginning, but it doesn't make it feel any easier. I'm tired of worrying and thinking about this transition and feel somewhat anxious to just get it over with. Eliza will be at a daycare center where my office is located. Students don't start back until next week, so my schedule is somewhat flexible and I will be easing her in over the course of this week. There little schedule sounds fun. I'm sure it won't feel fun at first, but I'm hoping she will eventually like it. They have free play until 9 am. At 9 am they gather for a song, story, etc. At 9:20 they transition to groups (this daycare is a preschool for kids 3 and older as well). From 9:30 until noon they play and participate in age appropriate activities. From noon to 12:40 they eat, clean up and have their diapers changed. They then go down for a nap/quiet time until 2:30. I will be there to pick Eliza up shortly after nap time. Doesn't sound too bad does it? We are both in for a big adjustment. Wish us luck! I'll report back soon.

Best of luck with Eliza's transition into daycare.

At the beginning of our wait, this is the thing I dreaded the most...taking Lauren to daycare. Since then, several of my waiting momma friends who are back with their daughters have told me that it's not as bad as they thought it would be. Their daughters are actually loving it and look forward to going.

I bet you'll be surprised at how well Eliza does. I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Oh Tiffany, my heart goes out to you. It will be tough to leave her, but I am sure over time things will be okay. Good luck tomorrow! We are all thinking of you and Eliza.

Trust me...this will be much harder on you than it will be on Eliza. She'll be fine and will love her school. But she'll love it best when you pick her up every day!

I'm sure the transition will have its moments. But, it will settle in and the two of you will do well in this new stage of life.

I will be on pins and needles till I hear how it's going.

oh, and I'm visiting my cousin....need to get back to you on the CD. It doesn't work on either computer?! Don't know why.

Its tough to leave your babe in daycare, but she'll do great. And when you see that little face smiling brightly when you go pick her up... it will really make your day :)

It is very difficult, but you have a pretty good situation with her being close. She will probably love it, but remember to give yourself a break, because it will be hard for you too!
