21 Months

  • She made this turkey hat at school and was very proud of it. I pulled out the camera to take a picture and she said, "cheese!".

  • My little brianiac is speaking in full sentences. I about fell over tonight when she asked me (with perfect enunciation) "Mommy what you doing?". I let out a big laugh/scream of disbelief when she said it. She knew she did something great...you should have seen her beaming smile from ear to ear.

  • Her latest, most repeated conversation goes something like this: "Doctor. Candy. Yellow". She got a yellow dum dum the last time she went to the doctor and it obviously made a big impression.

  • She goes to school willingly and is a happy girl all day long. She loves the kids and the teachers and talks about them all the time. In return the kids and teachers love her too. She is napping well at school. Daycare has been very positive for us.

  • Her teacher told me they were taking pics of the kids (for their Christmas project I'm guessing). She couldn't get Eliza to smile for the camera so she told her to say, "Mommy" and Eliza smiled the biggest smile. I could just squeeze her.

  • Now that she's feeling better she's been the biggest lover. She is handing out kisses left and right and asking for more when I kiss her.

  • We are using the high chair up to the table because someone is too big to be using a baby chair.

  • Ever since Halloween she asks for candy ALL the time. The other day I told her I didn't have any junk and she's now been using the words candy, junk and chocolate interchangeably.

  • She can independently count to 11.

  • She is trying like crazy to learn colors. She doesn't quite match the word with the color but she guesses all day long. She'll point to something and say, "Yellow (or any other color)?".

  • She has opinions about most things and isn't afraid to share them. As of this week she is constantly saying, "LaLa do it" or "Mommy do it". I wouldn't say she is overly independent. She likes to do many things by herself, but I am ordered to do my share of things for her as well.

  • She can sing almost all of the words of the Signing Time chorus even when it's not playing. She'll be playing with toys and singing away.

  • I have much to be thankful for this year. I'm thankful for every day with my little girl...even the rough days.

Amazing little smile in her turkey hat. She is doing so great and I love reading about all her progress and development. Abbey just had her first full sentence too, "I want that chair!" It has since been used with many other nouns. She doesn't want to sit in the baby chair either but my table has an edge that we can't pull it up to so I am keeping her there for a short time more. Thank you for the wonderful update!

Happy Thanksgiving! What a wonderful day you're sharing with your little sweetie. Such a cutie and oh so smart!

I arrived home to the sweetest voice mail last night. Little Tess is learning her colours too and there was a message on my phone of her learning her colours from her taggie blanket.

Today I'm thankful for the wonderful friends I have met online because of the wonderful world of IA! So happy you and I were able to meet. Looking forward to our next visit, whenever that is.

Happy Thanksgiving!

You do have such a little smarty on your hands! Her milestones seem so much farther along than for her age! You better start saving for University...she may be attending earlier than you expected.
Love the Turkey hat...but Eliza could make any "lid art" a fashion statement!
So glad things are going better than the last few weeks...I know how hard it can be doing this on your own. I'll email you my number and if you ever need an ear don't hesitate to give me a call.
I really appreciated your email with the link to the yahoo group the other night...it came just when I needed it!

Eliza looks so grown up in the Turkey Hat. Glad to know she is feeling better...and hopefully her Mama as well. The good times definitely win over the times when it all falls apart. We love Eliza!

What an amzing, smart and beautiful little girl. You are a lucky mama.

I'm glad you mentioned the daycare going well. I'm leaning more and more towards putting Mia in daycare instead of home care.
Well...whenever I actually meet her, I mean. LOL!

Happy Thanksgiving.

She is the smartest baby I know! And she looks so big in these pictures! By the way, don't bring a present on Friday, she will never know or care.

What a cutie and oh so bright! I love her little expressions on her face and how expressive she is (smiling, laughing, getting her needs met). She is so sweet & fun!
