Lately it's common for Eliza to lag behind me when we're out and about because she is lost in her wonderful, 2.5 year old imagination. I often hear her yelling, "Wait for me mommy". You can often hear me yelling back, "Keep up or you have to ride in the cart/stroller". I've even said on occasion, "Bye, I'm leaving" in hopes that she would catch up. I haven't done that in a while because it causes her to panic. Lately when she tells me to wait or to not leave, I say, "I love you my darling, I would never leave you, but you need to stick with me". You can't imagine the immediate relief that washes over her (it's visible) and I'm reminded that she needs that reassurance that her mommy won't ever leave.

Ah another Tiffany-ism I will have to mentally store for usage soon.... panic.... soooooooon?!
Lisa
A good lesson for all of us to learn. Your Eliza is adorable!
That is so sweet. Aren't you glad she is attached! We love Eliza.
Precious!
Of course you'll never leave.... your her mama! She's adorable as ever. Did you get your camera back? Those pictures look like they're pretty good quality.
That's so sweet.
so sweet
It's fun to catch up with you again! That's so cute...I've learned that same lesson with Xanthe. She does not respond well to "Bye! I'm leaving you!" Poor little thing looks so terrified. So it's easy to keep her close by!
That is really sweet... I can't really bear to think about what goes through their minds sometimes. I kind of have to block it out... too painful!
once again I can so relate! Abbey is always rehearsing, my mommy always comes back because she loves me
I have to say that I have, on occasion, used the "I'm leaving now" line to get Emma in gear. But you're so right...it probably isn't very cool!
Ame is much better at the lagging, but Kaipo still lags, or runs away, therefore I use the "hurry up or I'll put you in the
stroller/ cart" phrase too! And if I say, I'm leaving he just says, BYE. SO that's isn't really a threat to him.
