Tonight was one of the those nights that I didn't quite have the energy to do our bedtime routine. On nights like these, I have to remind myself that from start to finish, the entire routine takes 5 minutes at most. After a very abbreviated version of The Cat in the Hat, Eliza and I knelt by her bed to say our family prayers. I asked her if she wanted to say it and off she went. This was the first time she has said a prayer all by herself. My favorite part was when she said she was "thankful for mommy, Beau Beau and me". I had to hold in my laughter as she went on to bless the food. There are so many funny, proud, happy moments lately. Two-and-a-half is proving to be the best age yet!

That is so precious and memorable. I can remember a year or so ago when Kaipo said his first REAL prayer all by himself. My parents were actually over for dinner and he said a prayer that sounded so mature, as if someone was whispering in his ear (but we weren't). PROUD moment! The funny thing though is he didn;t say another one like it again for quite a while.

As everyone says, every age is a great age. Mia is almost 4 and her year of being 3 was great. She grew up so much and learned to do so much on her own.
