This post should have had a cute b-day pic with it, but I have a child who is almost 2...need I say more? I recruited Lisa to come get pics with us. We waited an hour and Eliza was a happy, happy girl. The minute it was our turn the tears started to flow. I felt like throwing myself on the floor and kicking and screaming. Actually, I practically did. I grabbed Eliza and went storming out of the photo studio saying, "It's not going to happen"! Poor Lisa was left to gather my stuff as I swiftly left the mall scolding my 2 year old. Since Eliza and I were both behaving badly, we came home to regroup. I think we will stay close to home today and try again some other time (maybe). Man, I hate those "bad parent" moments. Sometimes I feel like I'm doing a good job and other times (like today) I lose it. I apologized to Eliza and promised myself that I will remain calm and try not act 2 years old myself.

Oh, I feel your pain! The day AFTER I shut my poor babies fingers in the car door I was threatening to spank her over her refusal to go to the bathroom without me "watching" her. I felt so bad afterward and now I take an extra 2 min to watch her potty, it makes her happy and it doesn't cost me anything. I have my "bad parent" moments too...I can't wait to see the pictures you get!

All parents have these moments. If we never felt frustrated or disappointed in our children's behavior, we would be indifferent, which I think is worse! Anyway,if I do say so myself, I like "homespun" photos best... they always seem to have more personality & life to them!
Getting professional pics have been some of my worst parenting moments ever. Where I feel like I will combust on fire with anger and frustration.
Ugh, hang in there. It can be HARD sometimes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think the terrible two's are just a cliche. I always thought they were till I had my own ;-) I'm counting down the months of sweetness till Pey morphs herself.
Don't feel bad, you sound like a normal parent to me!!
PS: I'm getting a little nervous about those terrible two's...
Don't worry about it. We have all had the proud parenting moments. I have no prof pics of Glenys at the appropriate times like 2year etc because of it. We get the school pics or church pics only.
Beverly
Not your fault...you had to wait WAY too long. Chloe wouldn't have made it either. Don't be too hard on yourself. We all have days like this!
Sometimes it's not such a bad thing to allow yourself your own meltdowns, shows your daughter you're human too and have your limits and moods too... :)
Really you did a good job... no need to feel bad. I like that you set limits for Lala and follow thru with them. It was fun just hanging and see the cute birthday girl.
Lisa
We all have those moments, mama. Don't be too hard on yourself.
XO
Been there done that. We've all had a moment or two (or more) just like that. Hang in there.
Been exactly there more than I care to admit! You're human...it happens to all of us...probably more to us single parents as we don't get any down time...don't beat yourself up about it.
that video was the funniest thing i've ever seen!!!
ha i only have a 6 year old brother and i've done far worse when he acts like that lol
Bless you for being honest. There's not a parent alive who hasn't done the same thing. Our first professional photo shoot, by the way, was an easter one (the girls were in beautiful pink and green dresses) and I was there with my in-laws as witnesses to my ineptitude. It was so awful I think I cried at one point. The girls were so upset that the studio had to photoshop off the snot and tears (theirs not mine) because we did the grab and run after only about 15 minutes.
Just when you think you have everything under control and then wham! Usually in public where you can see disapproval all around. Eliza is a cutie and we love her and you. I've seen the Vic's commercial before and it is so funny. I can so relate to the mommy tantrum urges!
Now, how do you find these videos! What a hoot. And yes, I've had moments like that to. Someday I just might drop to the ground and do it!
Oh Tiffany, you need to cut yourself some slack.. Go back and re-read the part of your post that said you waited an hour..... that was the real problem, the lost time just sitting there. By the time you were ready to get the photo, your sweet girl was ready to leave.
But, I know I too have moments where I lose my patience and think that I am just not being a good Mama... this too shall pass.
Too funny! I have actually done that before when the fighting and crying won't stop I just join them! I have had plenty of bad parent moments.
